Mystery Novel Book Report - Book Reviews
Setting: (Sign) I used a reward sign that was posted up on a bulletin board to help me remember the setting. The sign was posted in a park in the small town called Pine Creek. This is where the story took place and where the boys lived. The boys were excited about maybe winning 50 dollars to find an Indian relic or grave. This was the start of their adventures.
Characters: (Rope) The three main characters are Marc, Eddie and Hermie. The rope reminds me of the three boys because they do allot of
exploring and Eddie always brings a rope with him so they can get in and out of the cave every day. At the end of the story when the boys are lost Eddie is mad at himself because he left the rope at the cave entrance and they could have used it.
Plot: (Dog) The plot is about the three boys looking for Indian relics one day and the dog, named Bluedog, goes to chase a rabbit and ends up in a under ground cave. After they found him and the new cave they discovered they decided to keep coming back every day to look for Indian relics. The three boys get lost when they went too far in the cave and they couldn’t find their way out.
Clues: (Arrow head) Hermie, Marc, and Eddie find a arrow head in the cave when they were lost. The arrow head becomes a clue to them so they keep on looking for more Indian relics. Even though they were lost they came across an Indian Grave site that had a skeleton of an Indian boy.
Distractions: (Newspaper) The main distraction of the story is Mooney. Mooney is a boy a little older but always trying to follow where they go. He was following them so he could get a chance to find out where the boys where going to
search for Indian relics. The newspaper reminds me of Mooney, because the boys would leave each day on their adventure when Mooney was delivery his newspapers and was not able to follow them.
Conclusion: (Moccasin) I thought the conclusion of the story was that the three boys left the grave because they did not want to interrupt it. I think the boys were kind enough to not disturb the grave that the spirit of the Indian boy showed up to help them find the right way out when they were lost. The Indian boy was wearing moccasin’s that Eddie and Mark saw when they were crawling out of the cave. That is what they remembered of the Indian boy.
